Set up two-factor authentication

Use this screen to connect your Actualog account to an authenticator app. The normal flow is to scan the QR code; the manual setup key is only a fallback when scanning is not possible.

Open Set up two-factor authentication.

Prerequisites

  • Install an authenticator app on a phone, tablet, or password manager.
  • Keep the Actualog setup page open until the first code is accepted.
  • Use the current six-digit code from the authenticator app; codes expire quickly.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open your authenticator app.
  2. Select Add account, Scan QR code, or the equivalent action in that app.
  3. Scan the QR code on the Actualog setup screen.
  4. Confirm that a new entry for Actualog appears in the app.
  5. Enter the current six-digit code from that entry.
  6. Select Verify and enable.
  7. Save the recovery codes shown after setup.

If QR scanning does not work

Open Can't scan the QR code? and copy the manual setup key into your authenticator app. Do not share this key with support or an administrator; it is a secret that lets the app generate codes for your account.

Actualog no longer displays the raw authenticator URI in the normal UI. The QR code already contains that setup data in a safer, user-friendly form.

Common mistakes

  • Scanning the QR code with a normal camera app instead of an authenticator app.
  • Entering an expired code. Wait for the next code and try again.
  • Adding the account twice and using the code from the older entry.
  • Closing the page before saving recovery codes.
